Jewelry

Throughout history humans have used gemstones to make jewelry and to decorate objects. The jewelry industry is a multi-billion $US industry which relies on primary materials such as gemstones and diamonds. 

For the jewelry industry to act responsibly it must ensure that the positive impacts significantly outweigh the negative impacts at production, manufacturing and retail levels. In essence, this means tackling social, economic and environmental concerns on a daily basis, so as to achieve a sustainable equilibrium between extraction and beneficiation in the future.
